About the Author
For over two decades, I've helped families navigate one of life's most important financial decisions—buying a home. As a licensed mortgage and real estate broker with a Master's degree in Marketing (earned as valedictorian), I've witnessed countless women overcome their fears about money and real estate to achieve their dreams of homeownership. These experiences opened my eyes to a crucial gap: we simply aren't teaching girls and women the financial literacy skills they need to thrive.
That realization inspired me to write books that make financial concepts accessible and empowering for readers of all ages. My children's book introduces young girls to entrepreneurship through a heartwarming story about creating positive change in their community, while my guide for millennial women demystifies the homebuying process with practical, confidence-building advice.
My passion for empowering women and girls extends far beyond my books. I founded The Wildflower Initiative, a nonprofit that places libraries and reading spaces in homeless and transitional areas, creating safe havens for learning and healing. Through partnerships with organizations like Barnes & Noble, Intuit, and the San Diego Department of Transportation, we've been recognized for our impact on vulnerable communities. This work, combined with my two years serving on the Commission on the Status of Women and Girls, has deepened my commitment to addressing the systemic challenges women face around homelessness, human trafficking, and domestic violence.
Whether I'm speaking at conferences, presenting on behalf of The Wildflower Initiative, or developing educational materials for classrooms, my mission remains the same: to equip girls and women with the knowledge and confidence they need to take control of their financial futures.
When I'm not writing, speaking, or helping clients achieve their real estate goals, you'll find me at home in sunny San Diego with my teenage daughter, my husband (who also happens to be my best friend), and our two dogs, Alli our beautiful rescue mix and Dakota, a spirited chocolate lab. Being a mother has reinforced my belief that financial education should start early and be woven into everyday conversations—which is exactly what my books are designed to facilitate.
